I just wanted to say what I great time I had performing at MetroJam last night. I was joined by John DiPinto (piano), Ritt Henn (bass), and Bobby Sher (drums). It was such an honor to perform in front of so many well know singers especially Lina Koutrakos. The amazing Jenna Esposito hosted the evening. I look forward to playing the Metropolitan Room again.

Statement from Lee Cadena on the death of Farrah Fawcet and Michael Jackson.
"I am sadden to hear about the passing of two icons today. Their talent will always be with us. Their accomplishments will always be remembered. What's important to remember is that yes, they were celebrities that the world loved, but they were people. They were parents, children, brothers and sisters that will never be forgotten. We must not forget that. It is a reminder of how valuable life is and how they were a part of ours. My deepest sympathy to both families on this painful day."

March of Dimes March for Babies
-
April 20, 2009
Well I have just returned from historic Leonardtown, Maryland. I had the honor of singing the National Anthem for the start of the March of Dimes, March for Babies walk. I was asked by the Cusic Family (Ambassador Family) to sing the Anthem to start the festivities. It was an amazing feeling to have my voice projected through the entire downtown area. After that, I stood with the Ambassador baby Paula Cusic for the ribbon cutting ceremony. My thanks to the Cusic Family for giving me this memorable honor.

Well now that Fall has officially started, I wanted to thank everyone for a great Summer. This summer I toured my show "Sabor a Mi", a show that I have been wanting to do for many years. We started in May, in NYC at the Beechman Theatre and we closed in San Antonio, TX in September. This year was special, it was my first time at the Beechman, a great theatre and my closing concert was one of the most memorable night of my life. In 2008, I would never imagine being able to be the first Mexican-American to do anything. I was the featured vocalist for the Hispanic Heritage Celebration. The first event of its kind and my concert was the start of it. Thanks to everyone for being there. This summer was also my first time singing at The River Room of Harlem with the great Julian Yeo. Musically, this has been a great year and I am in the begining phase of planning for the next CD. This will be a latin style CD, that so many of you have asked for. Again, thanks for your support and I really look forward to seeing you again soon.

Well I just want to thank everyone that attended my NYC concert. It felt so good to return to the stage again in one of the most important cities in the world. It was such an honor to be one of the first Mexican-Americans to play the Beechman Theatre. I had one of the best audiences that just made the evening so special. We had a pretty full house just a few seats away from a sell out. I have been receiving so many emails about the show. It seems like it was a crowd pleaser. David Shenton was amazing on piano, Mark Wade just amazed me on bass and the beautiful Lydia Velasquez showed her versatility on guitar, shaker and backup vocals. I had the best people working with me and it was in the perfect setting. I have also been receiving emails from people not able to make the show, so we are in the process of booking more dates. These dates also include other cities. Keep checking back for city updates. Again, thanks for all your support over the years. My best to you and hope to see you soon.

Well I have finally done it. I made my Birdland Debut. Birdland is noted as one of the top jazz clubs in the country and is located in the center of the Theatre District in NYC. Just to make the evening more memorable I had grammy-award winner Billy Stritch on piano and Steven Doyle on bass. I was part of Jim Caruso's Castparty. I performed in front of many of the top musicians and singers in New York. Thanks for a great night and the pictures will be posted soon.
